| Blueridge |
BR-140A-2 custom Mahogany Adirondack Spruce |
(NEW) Just in time. 18 more of our custom Blueridge festival beaters. Custom BR-140A-2 with the Holy Grail of tonewoods (Adirondack spruce) top. That's right, ADIRONDACK spruce. All solid woods, a simpler "Blueridge" script logo (we eliminated all that fake inlay on the headstock) less aging toner, forward shifted scalloped bracing, wider 1 and 3/4" nut width with slightly wider (1.5") string spacing, open back tuners, and a whole lot of bang for the buck. Also ordered WITHOUT pickguard (so you can choose and install your own - or for fingerstyle go without a pickguard altogether - dalmatian pickguard provided at no cost)You can buy the whole guitar for less than some companies charge for the Adirondack spruce alone!! In terms of value, simply impossible to beat. For 2008, Blueridge has raised their quality (and their prices) and this is an unheard of value with a list price of $1295. An unbelievable value at our regular discount price of $949 which includes case. Now, for our fellow purists: What's the catch? How can the Asians build this guitar and sell it for $949? In the interest of full disclosure, here are the gotchas on this model, and things we would change if we ran the world: The finish is polyurethane. The bridgeplate is rosewood. The warranty is only one year. The bridge and fretboard are rosewood. The neck is three piece. Is it a D-18GE? Of course not. Does it sound like one? Pretty darned close, I have to say. This is a custom order just for us - they will not be available anywhere else. Note: 18 arrived - just four remain! The last THREE are SALE PRICED at $749 with case! |

| Collings | D3 koa G
custom | Just arrived (NEW) As this annoying recession drags on, each morning we drag ourselves out of bed, put our Hawaiian shirts on, water the dog, and hope for the best. Each new day, we look for a bright spot to pull us out of our funk. Today's beacon of light was this spectacular guitar. We ordered this custom D3 last year after we pestered Collings relentlessly for their very finest flame koa, then we appointed it appropriately with high grade German spruce, koa binding all over, flowerpot inlay on koa bound headstock, snakewood knobs, and a vintage cut thru saddle. It is lightly built, and it has no tongue brace, but is built with stiff Adirondack braces, and has style 45 snowflake inlay. The top is perfect and beautifully simple with no pickguard - but there are standard tortoise and CW pickguards in the case to suit the buyer's preference. Koa and German delivers a warm, rich and full tone with tremendous responsiveness and sustainnnnn. It is a *fabulous* looking guitar with world class sound. It is headed to Japan. | SOLD

| Collings | CW MhA - VARN
CW Mahogany VARNISH | Just arrived (NEW) The iconic Collings CW in mahogany and Adirondack spruce dressed to kill in va-va-va-VARNISH. A model that quite often successfully takes the buyer off the market forever, a CW is about as good as a guitar can be. Every CW we get is killer. A CW in varnish? OVER-kill. Hooo Boy!! Honest to Pete....This CW really kicks butt. 4.0 pounds, with a fullness of tone that is remarkable, really. Played side by side with a varnish D1A, the D1A has slightly more percussive woof, but there in an openness and mid-range sparkle to this particular CW and rumble in the upper bass that slices and dices, seriously, like nothing we've ever heard. In that it is our first VARNISH CWMhA, by the way, I suppose that is why it sounds like something we have not heard. Duh.... Is it better than the D1A-Varnish? NO - but it is different enough that it would be *really* hard to choose between the two. | List Price: $7,175 |
Our Price: $6,457 | ||
| Collings | D1A - VARN | Just Arrived (NEW) The model that keeps the bills paid here at Moe's House of Mahogany, the ever-popular Collings D1A. This one washed in the mud, vitalized by the varnish, made whole by the Holy Grail, that combination of mahogany and Adirondack spruce that really gets the Goose. Call us Krazy. Being convinced, committed to, and koo-koo about mahogany as we are, we like to dress these in style. This is a basic D1A for which we requested "perfect" wide grain Adirondack spruce for the top and perfect free-of-figure mahogany for the back. To the basic D1A, we've added fretboard and peghead binding and a fancy torch on the headstock. And a 1 and 3/4" nut width, of course. We think a world class guitar deserves that kind of finery, and so do you. One serious guitar. Ready? | List Price: $7,500 |
Our Price: $6,750 | ||
| Collings | D1A VARNISH | Just arrived (NEW) Been without one of these tonemeisters for about six weeks now. It will be good to get some fresh and aromatic stock into our famed varnish "huff" room. Wouldn't you know it, a D1A Varnish with a few nice options: 1 and 3/4" nut width, Vintage Now neck and bridge, Adirondack braces, no tongue brace, cut thru saddle, Brazilian rosewood peghead overlay. A guitar which requires no explanation. Just exclamation. This one is a loose cannon, with very robust bass, woody warmth, and volume to spare. That Vintage Now neck always seems to add a little something to the nether regions tonally. If you are looking for "the one to go to war with", this could be the artillery you have been seeking. 4.2 pounds, this pistol packing Mama. Take no prisoners, indeed. | List Price: $6,925 |
Our Price: $6,230 | ||
| Collings | D1A Varnish custom | Just arrived, and took the prize (NEW) And off to the varnish huff room we go! Don't wait up. Another one of our customs. The D1A, the one to have when you are having only one. We picked the woods for this one. The guitar that needs no 'splainin' Lucy. Style 3 backstrip, no tongue brace, 1 and 23/32" nut width, 2 and 1/4" (CW style) saddle spacing, fretboard and headstock binding (tortoise) and the totally torchified headstock (pearl torch inlaid in headstock veneer.) I am getting giddy already. VARNISH! TORCH! Oh...and sunburst! (List: $8,250) Should be here 4/17 Note: Arrived early, just in time for tax day. Listen: We've had fifty D1As. More than a dozen have been varnish. *This* light (3.95 pounds) box of joy is the best D1A we have heard. Hands down. Those who ask that we call you when something *very special* arrives? Consider yourself called. SOLD(GS) | SOLD | |||
| Collings | D1A | Just arrived (NEW) We get all the best Collings D1A guitars. There we said it. Or maybe, just maybe, Collings is incapable of making a bad D1A guitar, or any guitar for that matter. Whatever the case, we have one here that is typical of the breed: Fierce, loud, proud, explosive, and posessed of growl that is both gigantic, brilliant, cyrstal clear and persuasive. Very nice looking Adirondack spruce top and a few nice options: 1 and 3/4" nut width, tortoise bound fretboard and headstock, figured Brazilian rosewood headstock overlay. Take your playing to the next level. Take no prisoners. (List: $5,000) | List Price: $5,000 |
Our Price: $4,500 | ||
| Collings | DS1A custom | Just arrived (NEW) OK...you know how we worship Collings D1A guitars. "The one to have when you are having only one." Well, every now and then we run into someone who wishes a D1A had a little less bite and a little more snuggle, a little less cut and a little more hug, a little less fight and a little more love. These folks tend to play with fingers as often as flatpick, and they tend to sing more often, and their need to kill banjos is less critical. For these folks we often recommend the DS1A, a first cousin to the D1A. A guitar where the neck joins the body at the twelfth fret and the bridge resides in the middle of the lower bout and drives the lower frequencies all the way to Poughkeepsie. If you have ever said a D1A is "too big, too bad, too bright, too brittle, too this too that, maybe you should meet its cousin, the DS1A. The bigger bottomed D1A. This is a custom model with a solid headstock, a style three backstrip, and a 1 and 3/4" nut width. It's good. | List Price: $5,300 |
Our Price: $4,770 | ||
| Collings | D2H-G VARNISH German | Just arrived (NEW) Our favorite way to serve up a D2H is with that perfect marriage of East Indian rosewood and German spruce. Since we like them so much, we figured it was high time we put our checkbook where our mouth is and order one up in VARNISH with no tongue brace. Whatcha think? 1 and 3/4" nut width, of course. As expected, the guitar has an enormous sound that hits on every cylinder. Highs, lows, and everything in between is present, fat, and happy. A controlled roar, a reverberant wonder. Quite impressive. | List Price: $6,350 |
Our Price: $5,715 | ||
| Collings | OM1Asb- cut
OM1A sunburst CUTAWAY | Just Arrived (NEW) So...have you been listening to Pete Huttlinger at all? You really should. We all should. After doing so, we've concluded that there is only one thing more satisfying than a Collings OM1A guitar with a cutaway, and that is an OM1A with a cutaway and a Collings Style One sunburst. And a 1 and 3/4" nut width, of course. One of these and one of Pete's instructional videos and a weekend of woodshedding - instant motivation. Here is what we say: Stop watching the cable news shows - and watch Pete do this. Now get back on that guitar. And get back in style. | List Price: $5,875 |

| Collings | AT-16 Blonde | Just arrived (NEW) Just when we think Collings has peaked, we've seen it all, and it can't get any better - he drops a new archtop on us that just pushes our re-set switch. Our expectations are high, but he's knocked us out and re-booted us in modern Texas style. Alex at Collings warned us that it was outrageously beautiful and that he is in "love" with this guitar. Strong words from a man who knows a thing or two about love and about lumber. There is so much cross grain interesecting with straight grain, the back of this guitar looks like a checkerboard. Checkers, anyone? There are no words for the sound. An archtop for Texas Red. An axe for the Ages. Gawd's own guitar. Didn't last a week. SOLD (CA) | SOLD | |||
| Collings | Ukes!! | Just arrived (NEW) You've heard the news. Gad-zooks, Bill Collings is building ukes! The uke is hot, the uke is hip. Your grandparents fell in love to the sound of one. Arthur Godfrey popularized them. Tiny Tim ruined them for a whole generation. George Harrison made them cool again. Jake Shimabukuro, the Jimi Hendrix of the ukulele, blew the lid off of the thing. Del Rey taught us the Blue Uke. Victoria Vox brought it to the singer-songwriter genre. Now Bill Collings, the Master of the fretted instrument universe, will perfect the uke. Think you are too cool for a uke? You are not. Travel instrument? Perfect. Breath of fresh air? You betcha. We received two of the prototypes today (one mahogany and one koa with cedar top. ) They sound GREAT. They are more fun than a box of puppies and I promise you, there will be LOTS and LOTS more. How to solve the financial doldrums? Join the Uke-apalooza at Acoustic Music Works! | INQUIRE | |||

| Collings | OO2MRG MadRose German | Just arrived (NEW) Ordered last November (it has taken a while for the MadRose to season) and worth the wait. A OO body Collings in Madagascar Rosewood with a fine German spruce top. We eliminated the herringbone (nod to JR) and we eliminated the slotted headstock. So this is a custom solid headstock OO with 1 and 3/4" nut width (pretty cool, huh?) We kept the pyramid bridge and we ordered a pickguard "on the side" (not installed) in case the new owner wants to add one. Ordered as a pair (well, sort of) with the O2MRG shown below, one is a 12 fret wonder and the other is a 14 fret stunner. We could see why someone might buy both. MadRose and German is a superb combination. This small guitar has great warmth and sustain. $5,700 ON HOLD (ML) | ON HOLD | |||
| Collings | C-10 Cowboy | Just arrived (NEW) The economy is lousy, but business is great. What does a shop owner do? Should he buy GE stock at $11 a share (er..make that $9 a share...er... make that $6 a share) or should he continue to dance with the one that brung him? Should he hunker down and seek cover until the recession blows over? Or should he continue to invest in high quality guitar inventory? This guitar has the answer painted right on the top - turn off the TV, flush the Blackberry, strap on your guitar and YODEL with the COYOTES. Not a thing I can do about Wall Street or the World Bank, but I can sing Cowboy songs until the cows come home. Collings is building nine more of these extremely limited Cowboy C-10 guitars. We are gleeful that we are getting three of them and Cowgirl Mary Mary is riding the first one to a rodeo in coastal Maine. We'll have two others, but not for long, I suspect. Buy one for your grandson, and enjoy it in the meantime. Photo credit to our pardner Duolian from the Collings forum. Geoff got the one from the NAMM Show, and he is one good natured cowboy, and we thank him for the nice photo, #1 in our link, to which we have added five more of our own new arrival. Playfully kitchy, collectible, GREAT sounding, and a Collings Camper-style C-10 through and through. Yippie Yi Yo Kai Yay! SOLD (MM) | SOLD | |||
| Collings | C-10 Cowboy | Just arrived (NEW) The economy is lousy, but business is great. For this we offer no apology or explanation except to say a great guitar is timeless, recession-proof, and necessary survival gear. This guitar speaks for itself, on so many levels. It is fun. It is funny. But don't let that fool you. There is something special about the sound of these modest mahogany masterpieces. Ask anyone who has played one, the Cowboys are special - the ultimate mahogany C-10. Heck, ask John Sebastian. He owns two of them. He believes in magic. This is a grownup's guitar, and the sound that it creates is magic and timeless. Trust John: "It makes you feel happy like an old-time movie...it'll free your soul.." This will be the second of three Cowboys coming to our humble lumber emporium. The first one sold before it arrived. $6,350 This second one was in stock for a full twelve hours, but it has in fact, SOLD to "Cowboy Camper" his own bad self (shout out to our good pals on the Collings forum!) | Collings | OM1A cut ADIRONDACK cutaway | Just arrived (NEW) Truth be told, Moe guesses that the 15,000 Collings guitars in circulation are in the hands of 5000 or 6000 very smart and fortunate people, because as we all know - once you have a Collings, you want a second and a third Collings. Face it, Collings owners are a pretty elite group. With serial # 15001, Collings has turned another corner, and reached another milestone. Speaking of some round corners, how about the handsome shoulders on this - perhaps the ultimate all-around guitar - a Collings OM1A with Adirondack spruce top, CUTAWAY, and 1 and 3/4" nut width, of course. This guitar does everything well from light fingerstyle to aggressive flatpicking. It's difficult to find something that this guitar will not do. At 3.6 pounds, she is light, and she is ready. She's got mojo. She's visually rugged with some serious barn wood on top. We added a style three backstrip just to fancy her up a bit, but she can speak for herself. She's woody, she's sweet, and she is in fine voice. Want some satisfaction in these trying times? Join that small group of people who own one of the finest things money can buy. Stay strong. | Collings | CJ Mh A sb Varnish custom | Just arrived (NEW) While we are at it, let us introduce you to our Guitar of the Year for 2008. In general, the short scale varnish sunburst CJ was the "it" guitar for 2008, and we sold more than our share of them. Each one was great. This one, however, stands tall even in a room full of giants. This one has short scale, varnish, 1 and 3/4" nut width, flourish on the peghead, BRAZILIAN rosewood bridge, fretboard, and peghead overlay and magnificent quilted mahogany back and sides. We've ordered several like this and this one was in stock *almost* 24 hours before it sold. It had a sound that made us forget everything else for a day. Instant gratification, baaaaby. D1A VARNISH Sunburst |
Just arrived (NEW)Just arrived. The guitar that can do no wrong, from the company that is incapable of building a bad guitar. The one to have when having only one. A reward for a life well lived. A good reason to wake early and play guitar before work, or to skip work altogether. Another one of our custom D1A VARNISH guitars. I don't care how many guitars you own (actually, that is not exactly true...) but you haven't sat in the front car of the roller coaster of life until you've ridden one of these. And this one is mightly special. Here are the vitals: D1A with style one sunburst, 1 and 23/32" nut width, 2 and 1/4" CW style saddle spacing, tortoise binding all over with the neck and fingerboard binding including the crosscut purfling and style 3 backstrip. There is so much more. The guitar has a torch on the headstock, which renders the builder and brand incognito, so we emblazon the 12th fret with a pearl Collings logo. The guitar has no tongue brace and its body has been slathered with varnish yielding a tone that is beyond magnificent. In a word, the guitar is perfect. Don't let our low key description fool you, this is a guitar of a lifetime. Ordered for store stock. Let us take this opportunity in a crummy economy to thank the folks at Collings Guitars for keeping us proud and building the finest guitars in the world. | Collings | 16" Archtop | Just arrived (NEW) Few and far between. Every time I talk with Collings (about twice a week) the conversation concludes with them asking "anything else we can do for you?" I cannot fully describe our respect for these instruments. A true modern classic. Jazz, Texas Swing, Gypsy. I don't care. The best L-5 you've ever played. | Collings | C10Mh hog top custom camper Deep Body | Just arrived and just look at her!! (NEW) We get to kick the tires of a lot of mighty cool custom Collings guitars here. We've had C-10 guitars in just about every flavor. We decided to throw the kitchen sink at this one, because we love this guitar model and it seems to work on so many levels. So here we go: A custom C-10 DEEP body MAHOGANY topped guitar with the modified-V OM style neck and square headstock. Did we stop there? Of course not - a guitar like this needs the FULL BODY VINTAGE SUNBURST. Did we stop there? Silly question. We had them build it light and use a BRAZILIAN rosewood fingerboard and bridge for tone and cool factor on this puppy. Stop there? Never! We added full body, neck, and headstock binding in tortoise with some additional purfling on the fingerboard. We requested the 1 and 3/4" nut width (of course)and nickel Waverly tuners with ebony knobs(of course) and the most fantastic Brazilian rosewood headstock overlay. Owww!! She's got that Brazilian rosewood belly bridge just in case you want to run medium strings and drive her hard, but we had her set up and strung with lights at the factory. She's mighty and she's cool! She's light (3.7 pounds) and she just sings. The deep body adds a fullness that actually makes this an ideal all around guitar. Sized somewhere between a C10 and a CJ, she's more like a C-13. She's a thumb-thumper and a strummer: she's a picker and she's a grinner. She's a pirate, a poet, and a king. Those of you who ask us to call when something *really* special arrives?? Consider yourself called. | List Price: $5,800 |

This one will feature the "antique brass" finish. To be clear, this is a steel guitar, and the finish is called "antique brass". G-R-E-A-T sounding reso with that big open sound - really a versatile guitar. According to Bob Brozman, "The Reso-Rocket is sonically a hybrid between the single cone and the tricone sounds! (60% single/40% tricone). It is a single cone guitar, but the tricone-like upper grilles and the more closed coverplate both change the way the air flows above and below the cone. It seems that the more open upper grilles contribute a lot to the tricone sound. Another GREAT feature of this guitar is the cutaway allowing access to all the highest frets. This instrument is VERY loud, and it has tremendous cutting power, making it a great axe for all kinds of music... List price on the special edition Antique Brass ResoRocket" $ 3,985 - JUST ARRIVED. | Collings | SJ 42 BaaaA | Just arrived (USED) A nine year old (12/00) Collings SJ42. One of those off-the-charts crazy good guitars that come along every now and then. Built with what was selected and reserved as the highest of AAA grade Brazilian back in 2000. Might as well call it *Dalbergia Unobtanium* now, as we can only dream about wood like that today...or you can own wood like that tomorrow if you purchase this guitar. Your call. Collectible, playable, irresistable. This SJ will warm your heart. Seriously folks, looking for a *killer* SJ with Brazilian and Adirondack the likes of which you have never seen? Say no more. It's a world class guitar, and not surprisingly, it includes a white deluxe Calton case. The nut width is 1 and 11/16". The bridge pins are fossil ivory. The Brazilian rosewood is stupifyingly straight. The sound is as you would imagine. Can't think of anything else to say...ON CONSIGNMENT | $10,250
| Collings | SJ Rosewood Cedar | In transit (USED)(Exc.) The Collings SJ is an extremely versatile guitar. Sized somewhere between an OM and a Jumbo, it has a tight waist and sits low on the leg like a small body but its substantial lower bout helps produce a volume and tone that is well.."jumbo" by definition. We've sliced and diced the SJ in maple, Brazilian, mahogany/Adirondack, Koa/German, and a few other combinations. Here's a relatively rare but very James Taylor-esque combination - East Indian Rosewood and Western Red Cedar. 1 and 3/4" nut width, Schaller tuners with ebony knobs. From some builders, this might be considered a *fingerstyle* guitar, and it certainly works well in that mode - but being a Collings, it is not afraid of a flatpick and I dare say this guitar can do just about anything - if you are up to it. | $3,450 | |||

| Flammang | D-30 black top | Just arrived (USED) (EXC. +) Another great used guitar from a very good customer. This is our first Flammang (David Flammang of Greene, Iowa). It was built in 2003 and it wears serial # 87. It is a lightly built exquisitely crafted guitar that is clearly built and set up to be played fingerstyle. It has no pickguard and the action is set at 5/64" at the 12th fret. Unusual, at least for us, to think of a dreadnought as a "fingerstyle" guitar as the great majority of our dreadnoughts are heavily strung tools for hairy armed bluegrassers. This guitar is built with a bit of refinement that might disqualify it as a "bluegrass" guitar but it certainly excels at modern fingerstyle and blues and open tunings. It's a bit more pino than Pabst, a little more James Taylor than Jimmy Martin. Reminds us of a certain 1944 Martin D-18. Very light, advanced forward shifted X brace, scalloped. The fit and finish is about perfect, this lightly braced Adirodack topped guitar responds to a light touch and the tone is balanced, and the feel (1 and 23/32" nut width, V-neck, 5/64" low action)is un-real. A guitar that Cowboy Camper would love. He should pay us a visit and play this masterpiece. $3,200 ON CONSIGNMENT | $3,200 | |||

| Merrill Brothers | OM-18 | Just arrived (USED) (EXC.++) A Merrill Brothers OM-18 (MB OM-18 serial # 162 to be exact) - It's a fact. Jim Merrill builds one of the highest quality reproductions of a vintage OM-18 ever made. It generally takes a very long time to get a Merrill, but it is worth the wait. It will be a pleasure to handle this consignment. Just one of the finest vintage style guitars we've ever come across. We've taken close up photos, but the person who buys this won't buy it for its looks. It's all about tone. Don't get me wrong, it looks great with fit and finish at a very high level, but it is pretty plain looking. It just looks like a 1932 OM-18, that's all. Oh, and it sounds like one too. Really, it's all that and a bag of chips. | SOLD | |||
| Merrill Brothers | OM-18 sunburst | Just arrived (USED) (EXC.) Another Merrill Brothers OM-18 - It's a fact. Here comes another one, sunburst this time. Wanna play? Merrill builds a guitar that looks, sounds, and feels, EXACTLY like a vintage Martin. Moe had a 1932 Martin OM-18sb here ($26,500) and the Merrill OM-18sb (dark amber burst) looks like it, feels like it, and sounds as good or better. All the others (We have Collings OM1, OM1A, OM1ss and Bourgeois custom OM and Huss and Dalton TOM-A here) have less woof in the bottom and less warmth than a Martin (and a Merrill) but all have stronger mids and stronger trebles than the Martin and Merrill. The Merrill has the *same* scooped mids, strong bass, and relatively weak (let's call them "soft") trebles of the Martin. The Merrill sounds and feels like an old guitar. The neck feel is identical to the 1932 Martin. It is a superlative example of a vintage recreation. It (here comes the wit) does not have an original bone in its entire body (except a truss rod) as it is a reverse engineered (hate that term) *perfect* interpretation (better term) of a 1930's Martin. Priced to sell quickly. The Merrill is a 2002, serial # 000273 | $5,150 | |||
| Miller | Model D | (Used) Exc.+ condition. Basically new. Coming in on consignment - mahogany dreadnought. A VERY high end custom guitar, in a custom Cedar Creek case. A rare and highly desirable Ken Miller (of Tallahassee, FL) D, #105. Miller is one of the hottest small shop builders in the flat picking community today. # 105 is a standard D model with highly-figured mahogany back and sides, master grade Adirondack top, STAINLESS STEEL frets, Brazilian rosewood binding and fretboard trim, fossil walrus ivory pins, snake wood knobbed Waverlies, and a Brazilian peg head with a beautiful inlayed Oak leaf and acorn design. One of a kind, to be sure. And, oh yea, it's finished in VARNISH. The guitar is consigned here as the owner awaits delivery of his next Ken Miller guitar. The sound is balanced. The guitar can work for flatpicking and figerstyle.On consignment. | $3,250 | |||
| Olson | Olson SJ | Just arrived (Used) Exc.++ condition. 2000 Olson SJ. Rosewood and cedar with tortoise binding, abalone top purfling, 1 and 3/4" nut width and standard (Olson installed) passive pickup. Basically a James Taylor model without cutaway and without wood binding. As guitars go, they don't get much better: Perfect fit and finish, dazzling woods, and great playability. Schaller tuners with ebony knobs. Near mint (looks unplayed) condition. Plays beautifully and sounds magnificent. On consignment. | SOLD | |||
| Rockbridge | OM/OOO Brazilian Rosewood | Just arrived (USED) (EXC.) A 2007 Rockbridge. Our first Rockbridge. This one has some fine straight grain Brazilian rosewood, a very thin finish, and some very fine Adirondack spruce on top. We're just getting to know it, but we'll say it is a delightfully even sounding guitar with a smoothness and warmth that immediately distinguishes it. The short scale makes it a very easy player and the Gibsonesque neck has an oil varnish satin finish. Some very well thought out features. We've spoken with Brian Calhoun, the builder, and he tells us that this guitar used his very highest grade woods. This guitar sold new in 2007 for $7,000. Used, it was priced at $5,250. It is now priced at $4,950 - a great price for a Brazilian rosewood guitar. | $4,950 | |||
| Santa Cruz | F | Just arrived (USED) (EXC.) The Santa Cruz model F. A mid jumbo (J185) style guitar, this one with East Indian rosewood back and sides and sitka spruce top with nickel Schaller tuners. Excellent condition, nice sound, plays great. On consignment. New lower price. | $2,350 | |||
| Santa Cruz | Tony Rice Pro | Just arrived (USED) (EXC. ) We don't take a lot of Santa Cruz guitars here, but you can bet that when we do, we cherry pick the *very* best sounding ones. Here is a model that almost always reminds us of just how good the folks at Santa Cruz can be when they put their minds to it: a Tony Rice *Pro* model with wildly figured Brazilian rosewood and fine European spruce top. The TR Pro is built to Tony Rice's specs (slightly shorter scale, sharp "V" neck, enlarged soundhole, etc.) and is a remarkably warm and traditional sounding guitar. Sounds like an old Brazilian Martin. This one has a few light dings and scratches and one finish crack on the side (that does *not* penetrate the wood at all) and it has a strap button installed on the heel - not our favorite location - so all in all this guitar, though collectible, probably appeals more to the *player* than the *collector* - go figure. And what a "player" she is! The guitar of a lifetime for someone. Consigned here while the customer contemplates a new custom Collings City Limits electric guitar.. Nice price! | $5,250 | |||
| Santa Cruz | OO 12 fret | Just arrived (USED) (EXC. +) Another great used guitar from a very good customer. This is a Santa Cruz OO (12 fret short scale) #130, dating it to 2002. Santa Cruz is well known for the Tony Rice model dreadnought and their OM guitars. Our favorites have always been their model H and 12 fret dreads and small bodies. Very lightly crafted, with lots of subtlety. This is an exceptionally good sounding guitar. Quite bluesy, the sound is perfectly balanced. Sitka top, slotted headstock, 1 and 3/4" nut width, extremely fine condition overall with one ding on the headstock. A great little fingerstyle blues box or parlor guitar. Professionally set up with low action and light gauge strings. VERY nice. Traded here on a Collings mandolin. New lower price. | $2,650 | |||
