Squirrel Hill

Acoustic Music Works is located in the hip and pleasantly bohemian "lower Murray" section of the Squirrel Hill shopping district. The community of Squirrel Hill dates back to 1764 and was annexed to the city of Pittsburgh in 1868. Squirrel Hill remains a unique, diverse, vibrant, smart, safe and friendly neighborhood. Squirrel Hill is perenially nominated for "best shopping district" and generally wins the "best one-stop shopping" category.

While you are in town shopping for that guitar, banjo, ukulele, or mandolin of a lifetime, be sure to visit Squirrel Hill's unique international coffee and tea shops, delis, bakeries, great ethnic restaurants, locally owned bike, gift, and specialty shops, some of the country's best pizza shops, and the incomparable Jerry's Records (12,000 sq. ft. of vinyl). We're within two miles of Chatham College, Carnegie Mellon University, Univerity of Pittsburgh, Carnegie Museum, Phipps Conservatory, the Homestead Waterfront, and Schenley and Frick Parks. We're about ten minutes (four miles) from downtown Pittsburgh. We are worth the trip.

Acoustic Music Works is located in the Squirrel Hill section of Pittsburgh spanning 2142 and 2144 Murray Avenue (at the corner of Murray and Phillips).

Take Exit # 5 (Squirrel Hill/Homestead) off of the "Parkway East" (Interstate 376)
Follow the signs for Squirrel Hill (first left turn after the exit) this is Forward Ave.
Turn left off of Forward Ave. onto Murray Ave. We're at the corner of Murray & Phillips. Look for our sign. There is always plenty of metered parking across the street behind the Ka Mei (Hong Kong Cuisine) restaurant. Buskers are always welcomed.
